Confirm your email, recover a lost password, and change your details — including what a new email address does to your account.

Getting into your account and keeping it working: confirming your email address, recovering a password you no longer have, and changing your details once you are signed in.

Two behaviours surprise people often enough to be worth flagging. Changing your email address clears the confirmation, so a fresh link is needed before the gateway screens open again. And accounts made through Google, GitHub, or LinkedIn carry no password of their own, which changes how both the reset and the change flows behave.
